Joy Tiz, a Chicago native (holding a JD and
M.Sc. in psychology) has written extensively on legal, self-defense, and
political topics including a previous column at America's Voices. She
has now turned her attention to trying to wake up those who have been swept
up in the current political climate without sparing a second thought, and
writes for Canada Free Press. Joy’s latest book, Obamanutz: A
Cult Leader Takes the White House, was released in August 2009. Joy has been quoted by Ann Coulter, and is a frequent guest on
talk radio: Lou Dobbs, KSFO in San Francisco, Premiere Radio Networks, Air
America and major markets all across America! Obamanutz Exposes the Cult Takeover
of the White House Obamanutz: A
Cult Leader Takes the White House is an insightful, eye-opening examination of the
election of our 44th President, Barack
Obama, and the machinery that put him there. From the mass movement that
elevated a man with no executive experience, disturbing associations and
gaping holes in his story, to the highest office in the land, to the media’s
blindness to everything but Obama’s personal charisma, Obamanutz explores all the variables that
allowed such a deeply flawed and overall questionable candidate to take
power. Until now the
focus has been on Obama and his story. This approach overlooks the complex convergence
of political, economic and social issues that made Obama's election possible,
if not inevitable. Tiz identifies the similarities between the abrupt
ascendancy of Obama and mass movements of the past. She points out that our
attraction to charismatic leaders dates back to primitive times when people
had faith in magic. Indeed, the Obama
campaign had a cult-like, magical aura that the candidate leveraged to great
advantage. Enormous crowds and fainting fans are generally reserved for
teenage girls at rock concerts, not political rallies. Articles cropped up
everywhere referring to Obama as "the messiah." Obama's ability to
capture the White House required the confluence of a number of factors,
social and economic as well as the complete collapse of the Fourth Estate. No
politician has exploited the media to the degree Obama has. Tiz explains the
mainstream media's stubborn refusal to examine Obama's cryptic past and
troubling associations. Employing her
characteristic wit, Tiz shines a light on Obama's troubled childhood as well
as his close ties to radical extremists. Ultimately, she coaxes us to turn
that light back on ourselves so we can consider how many of us participated,
consciously or not, in enabling Obama's power grab. This lively and
well-researched book leads to the startling conclusion that of all the
elements that propelled Obama into the White House, the man himself was the
least significant. In fact, candidate Obama was remarkably unremarkable. Tiz
assures us that despite the best efforts of the mainstream media to keep the Obamanutz
cult alive, at least a few Americans are starting to question both Obama's
competency and motives. While it is in our nature to look for the happy ending and believe that the good guys will ultimately prevail, dismantling a cult is a large-scale project. Battered women who get out of abusive relationships and recover invariably acknowledge in retrospect that there were indeed red flags, but they consciously or semiconsciously chose to ignore them because he was just so "charming." Obamanutz: A Cult Leader Takes the White House examines that charm. At the same time, Obamanutz takes an unblinking look at how we let our country devolve to the extent that electing Barack Obama seemed like a good idea. |
